Rena "Cautionary area" for boaties lifted               19/01

The Bay of Plenty Regional Council’s ‘cautionary area’ imposition in the region’s waters owing to floating debris from the Rena is lifted. The council imposed the area as a warning to boaties about the high risk of collision with floating containers or debris.

Exclusion Zones For Rena Debris                              11/01

The Bay of Plenty Regional Council is advising boaties of new exclusion zones associated with the Rena wreck on Astrolabe Reef. In addition to the three nautical miles exclusion zone around the wreck, all vessels must stay at least 200m clear of all floating containers and any salvage vessel working on the response.

Rena - Debris Field Warning                                    09/01

A ‘cautionary area’ from Waihi Beach to Mayor Island and Maketu has been established by the Bay of Plenty Regional Council following the breaking up of the Rena. The container ship broke in two overnight on Saturday, spilling containers and debris into the sea.

From Tauranga - cross the Harbour Bridge towards Mount Maunganui then take the first left hand lane into the Marina.

The Sulphur Point Marina.
From either direction on the new expressway, take the Sulphur Point exit which puts you on to Mirrielees Road, drive north and take 1st Left onto Cross Road, Keep going onto Keith Allen Drive, and this will take you into the Marina, and we are on the Right beside Burnsco's
